Despite the security industry remaining an essential service throughout the pandemic, many smaller security companies were fairly hard hit by Covid-19 causing some companies to curtail the physical side of their operations and others were forced to shut down altogether when the businesses they were guarding closed up shop. On the flip side, some guarding companies saw an increase in business when pharmacies, grocery stores, and banks needed to hire guards to control the circulation of traffic entering and exiting buildings.
