National Training & Compliance Manager

Based out of Dothan, Alabama, Ridenhour’s role as the National Training & Compliance Manager is to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory mandates and to provide administrative training and educational programs across 33 states to serve the +4500 employees and +600 clients at DSI Security Services. As such, part of his responsibility is to train DSI employees on how to best leverage TrackTik.

Jamie, you are responsible for the corporate training and compliance at DSI, what does a typical day look like for you?

Great question Mark. For me in this role no day is typical. Much like other roles in this industry, the day to day outlook is very dynamic depending on what is happening around me. I conduct and administer a large number of different training and certification classes, as well as our internal training programs. On the compliance side. I manage regulatory and company policy compliance across our footprint. I am also our administrator for a number of our online-based platforms. This makes for an interesting mix! In one week I typically dip my toes in each of these arenas in different capacities.

We talked a lot about you being a TrackTik super user – why do you think that it is critical for firms to adopt the super user approach?

From my point of view, it has increased the efficiency, productivity, and utilization of the system. Having a superuser in place allows for a much deeper understanding and ability to use and see a return on investment with the platform. Customization and creativity with the system and the possibilities of its use are hard to realize without having at least one super user as a resource.

In your experience, where do you see the evolution coming from in the security service space?

Great question, and a loaded one as well! From the perspective that I have, I see more automation and streamlining coming down the road. Our industry has very much been a paper and pencil boots on the ground industry for years. The past decade has seen amazing exponential growth in the industry as well as new technology for the industry to be either used for or by security providers.

You were one of the first-ever ASIS members certified as an APP, what is next for you when it comes to training?

Thanks. Yes gaining the APP certification and participating in ASIS International has been wonderful and rewarding. My current plans are to continue in the learning track for CPP certification over the next year or so. I have also been learning more about cybersecurity and business continuity as I feel these areas are of timely interest.
